What is your role at Fullarton Park Dental?
I am part of the Reception team at FPD.
How long have you been a member of the team?
I have been a member of the team for over 12 months.
Why did you decide to do the work you are doing now?
After training as a Dental Assistant when I was 17 years of age, I eventually gravitated to a reception role as I much prefer the administration side.
What do you most enjoy about your job?
I enjoy patient contact and being able to listen and help people either face to face or over the phone (and sometimes having a good chat!)
What does an ideal Sunday look like for you?
Ideal Sunday’s are time for family – In the morning I take my eldest granddaughter to swimming lessons and then spend time with her and her baby twin sisters. We love going for walks at the beach and to the park. We also read a lot of books together and have lots of cuddles! I love being a ‘Nanny’ and making many memories together.
Favourite movie?
I’m a bit of a romantic at heart and my favourite movie is The Notebook.
What’s a special skill you have that not many people know about?
Although I rarely find time to be creative a special skill would be painting or drawing.
What’s one thing you’re excited about coming up in 2024?
I’m excited about travelling more in 2024 and have lots of destinations on my ‘bucket list’ including Greece, Italy, the UK and Ireland.
If you could instantly become an expert in something, what would it be?
If I could instantly be an expert at something it would be maths as I’m terrible at maths !
What are you most looking forward to in the next 10 years?
In the next 10years I’m looking forward to being with my beautiful grandchildren as they grow up and spending quality time with my family and friends.
What could you give a 40-minute presentation on with absolutely no preparation?
I was a tutor for the Australian Dental Association for 5 years and could give a 40 minute presentation easily without preparation. I really enjoyed my time teaching dental assisting students in both written and practical skills and being a mentor for some.
What’s your hidden talent?
Hmmm can’t believe I’m admitting this but my hidden talent is being a great shower singer !
If you had to eat one thing for every meal going forward, what would you eat?
If I had to eat one thing for every meal it would probably be chips and gravy (my weakness)
What is a dream you have that you’ve yet to achieve?
A dream I’ve always wanted is to sing publicly, even though the thought of it is terrifying!
What do you wish you knew more about?
I wish I knew more about the world…I’m not well travelled so far but hoping to learn more about different countries and how others live.
